YB @ RH Jamit Ng Sepanggil

YB Wilson Ugak officiated at the “Majlis Perhimpunan Pemimpin bersama Rakyat” organized by Information Department Kapit at Rh Jamit, Ng Sepanggil, Baleh Kapit on Friday evening.

3 speakers; namely Mr. Koh Kumbong (Kapit Divisional Information Chief), Mr. Richard Sandak (OIC of Labour Department Kapit) and Mr. Johnny Kassaw (Public Relation Unit Chief Land & Survey Kapit) gave talks regarding current issues such as GST (Goods Service Taxes), the rationalization of subsidies, rules and regulations governing Sarawak Labour Acts, in-depth meaning of Perimeter Survey Concept as mentioned in section 6 and section 18.

YB Wilson Ugak praised Information Department for such wonderful and meaning full program. It is this type of information that should be explained and passed to the rural communities so that they (rural populace) will have first hand information and not be misled by oppositions who normally dwell on these issues to blame the government for their political gain.

YB Wilson also take this opportunity to thank the populace of Upper Baleh for supporting him in the just concluded PRU 13 and his visit today is a pay - back routine as in his campaign trails; Ugak promised to visit his constituency regularly to meet, discuss and find ways to overcome their needs and difficulties and to improve the infrastructure developments for the rural populace as in Hulu Rajang.

On the development of the proposed Putai Dam, Ugak advised all the people in Baleh to stay united and to hold dialogues regularly with the relevant authorities on matter pertaining on the issues that might affect their livelihood and refrain from demonstrations as it will further delay solutions to their problems. The best way to solve problem is to discuss and sit down with SEB to voice any demands or problems.

Ugak also touched on the government policy of rewarding the rural populace by the increase quantum of BR1M 3.0 by RM150 and also the inclusion of IBR1M that covers recipient of BR1M 3.0 to a maximum of RM30, 000.00 should anything happen to him/her within the year. The BR1M amount has been raised from RM500.00 to RM650.00 plus RM50.00 for IBR1M for those getting RM3, 000.00 and below. For those in the bracket of RM3, 000.00 to RM4, 000.00 will be getting RM450.00 and those single above the age of 21 will be getting RM300.00 plus IBR1M benefits.

Earlier on, Ugak officiated the steel bridge, contributed 24 sets of fans, and officiating the new JKKK of Rh Jamit, Ng Sepanggil. He announced a grant of RM15,000.00 to the JKKK of Rh Jamit and RM5,000.00 to their Biro Wanita.

PROGRAM SEMINAR PERKESO BERSAMA PEMIMPIN MASYARAKAT 2013


Hulu Rajang MP; Wilson Ugak Kumbong lauded the efforts being made by SOCSO Kapit Branch for putting up a Seminar  “PROGRAM SEMINAR PERKESO BERSAMA PEMIMPIN MASYARAKAT 2013” at Rumah Gindal, Pulau Sibau, Sungai Mujong Kapit.

In his welcoming address, the Manager of Perkeso Kapit; Mr Slyvester highlighted the roles and importance of Perkeso. To many of us, Perkeso acts like an Insurance company, but in reality it plays bigger and more important roles to safeguard the welfares of the workers in times of difficulties and needs. From their survey it was found that majority of the workers were not aware of their rights and privileges provided by Perkeso and it is the objective of this seminar to expose and guide them of their rights should anything happen in their work place.

Ugak was very pleased with the seminar as it gives the majority of his constituencies who are involved in the logging sector which came along with major work hazards and even death with proper knowledge and better understanding of the roles and functions of Perkeso. Among other agencies who also participated in the seminars were NIOSH agency represented by speaker Mr Dominic Charles from Sibu, NREB represented by Mr Gabriel Kalai, Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Kapit represented by Mr Richard Sandak and Agro Bank kapit represented by Mr Anggas Salang.

In his role as their member of Parliament for P.216 Hulu Rajang, YB Ugak had tried his very best to voice out the grievances and hardships faced by Hulu Rajang’s constituencies as proven in his latest debate speech recently in the current parliament sitting. As a man of word, Ugak had voiced out the poor conditions of schools in the rural area that needs urgent attention and more funds. He also voiced out the needs for more roads such as the proposed road from Rh Juntan to Rh Bengau (13 km), Nanga Mujong to Nanga Gaat (30 km), Nanga Mujong to Nanga Tiau (60km), Belaga Town to Merit which will be undertaken by Jiwa Murni under Blue Ocean government strategy, and many more access roads to connect the majority of the long houses in Hulu Rajang.

On health, Ugak also voiced out the dire needs to upgrade the hospital facilities in terms of beds, equipments and man power to meet the ever increasing demand for better health care for Kapit and Belaga Hospital. “The shortages of doctors and specialists were the most critical issue for Kapit and Belaga hospitals”, said Ugak and he demanded and hope that the Health Ministry will give this request their top priority for the betterment of Kapit and Hulu Rajang. Other issues being brought up by Ugak includes water treatment plant for Sg Asap, sports facilities for both Kapit and Belaga town, poor internet connectivity, poor telecommunication coverage, more subsidies for rural based agriculture, more amenities infrastructures for the rural communities and  more development projects under the Barisan Nasional government under the stewardship of YAB Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak.


Ugak also advised the people to appreciate what we have today as we are more fortunate than many other countries in the world who could not afford to provide subsidies as what we are enjoying now. So please treasure what we have and appreciate what the Barisan Nasional Government has done to us.

HEALTH IS WEALTH – YB WILSON UGAK


“Health is wealth”, said YB Wilson Ugak at the “I want Sihat campaign” held at Rumah Saong, Sg Oyan over the weekend.

He (Ugak) therefore advised the longhouse folks who attended the campaign to treasure and look after their health with great care. The campaign was organised by Kapit Divisional Medical office in collaboration with Klinik Desa Ng Oyan.  Kapit Medical Officer, Dr Ngua Chen Wen who hailed from Sibu also spoke at the function. Dr Ngua was full of praised for YB, despite his hectic busy schedule still manage to come and officiated the function.


On another note, Ugak advised the rural folks to be extra caution on letospirosis; and advise them to clean up thoroughly after farming and in contact with soil. He advised them to wear jungle boots for safety whenever going into forest. Adding to that, keeping the compound clean and refrain from unhealthy activities will help to provide a conducive and healthier living environment.

He announced a grant amounting RM10, 500(RM5, 400-presented and RM5, 100- in  2014) to JKKK Rh Saong for them to carry out their activities.


Also in attendance were Penghulu Salang, MA Wong Sii Riong, TR Barang, and TR Ajai, 9 long houses chiefs, DMO staffs, and PRS/BN supporters.

GOVERNMENT CARES FOR EVERYONE

“The government of the day under Barisan Nasional really cares for everyone”, said Hulu Rajang MP; YB Wilson Ugak Kumbong. He made the statement at the “Majlis Penyerahan Bantuan Yuran Pra Sekolah Swasta” at the Methodist Private Kindergarten here.

A total of 100 students received RM500 each to help ease the burden of paying their tuition fees for the whole year. This is the 3rd year such event was held.  A mother who chose to remain anonymous said that the assistance received really help her a lot as she has two more children who are still schooling.

In his speech, YB Wilson Ugak encouraged the parents to give their full support to the kindergarten by helping in a way or another. In this way, the school will progress as it has the full support. Ugak was touched by the commitment of all the parents who had contributed RM50.00 of the grant received to the school fund as a token of appreciations. He (Ugak) later announced a grant of RM10,000.00 to the Private Methodist Kindergarten and RM5,000.00 to PIBG SK Methodist to carry out their yearly activities.


The function was attended by Mr Layang Ugek, Petrohella Biya Bt Mabut, excos of the Methodist Private kindergarten, teachers, parents and students.

YB DATUK ALEXANDER NANTA WANTS CONTRACTOR TO SPEED UP CONSTRUCTION OF HOSTELS FOR SK PUNAN BAH


YB Datuk Alex and YB Wilson visited the delayed dormitories construction at SK Punan Bah over the weekend. On hand to welcome both YBs were the members of the school PIBG and the staffs of SK Punan Bah.

The construction of the hostel was to replace the old hostel that collapsed a few years back. It was supposed to be completed earlier on, but something went wrong with the contractor and thus passed all the inconvenience and hardship to the boarders. This had caused hardship and dissatisfaction amongst the parents.

YB Wilson have highlighted this problem (delayed in completion of the hostel) in Parliament and today YB Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi; the Asst Minister KKLW witnessed for himself the problem faced by the boarders of SK Punan Bah and he demanded that the contractor to finish up their job quickly or face the music.  What irked YB Wilson was the promise made by the contractor to complete the project on time and here today it remain incomplete and outstanding. Ugak suggested Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) to take stern action against the contractor who had failed to complete the project on time and blacklisted them from participating in future projects.


YB Datuk Alexander agreed with YB Wilson suggestion, and would bring up the matter in the cabinet meeting and would demand a prompt solution to the issue. Datuk Alex was so touched to see the present condition that 30 students were cramped in one classroom that was turned into temporary dormitories by the school authorities. Datuk Alex also visited the sites of the proposed communication tower for Punan Bah. During the dialogue with the residents of Punan Bah, a few matters arises; amongst them were clean water supply, 24 hours electricity and access road from Belaga town to Kapit. Present was Kapit District Officer; Mr Elvis Didit.


UGAK FLY FROM KL TO VISIT VICTIM OF TURBULENCE WIND



Upon hearing a stress call from Tr Banta about the “flying roof” of his long house situated just below Nanga Sut, about half an hour drive from Kapit town; he (Ugak) took the first flight from Kuala Lumpur to Sibu en route to Kapit to visit the victims of the turbulence wind that caused havoc to Kapit town and nearby area on Wednesday night.

The first thing Ugak did was to call his assistants to render immediate help to the victims by visiting them and handing them with spandex roofing costing over RM2,000.00 to help ease their burden. The quick actions of Ugak’s assistants heaped praises from the victims and thanked Ugak for his concerns, aids and prompt actions.

During his visit, Ugak promised to help the victims to construct their destroyed houses and he (Ugak) appealed to the relevant authorities to come and render their assistances in whatever way they can to help lessen the burden of the victims. Ugak later announced that YB Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing chipped RM5, 000.00 to help the victims.

Accompanying Ugak on his brief visit was Penghulu Salang, Penghulu Uga, Linggie Masing-Kemas Baleh Officer, Nelson Nyagap from Kapit District Council and PRS Baleh party members.


Ugak took a speedboat ride to Sibu after the visit to catch the last flight to Kuching en route to Kuala Lumpur to join in the Merdeka day celebrations at the capital.

UGAK THANKED HIS SUPPORTERS



Newly elected MP for P.216 Hulu Rajang thanked his supporters for giving him a record majority in the just concluded PRU13 by defeating both his opponents from PKR and SWP respectively. He also thanked all the constituents of Baleh and Belaga for giving him the mandate to continue the legacy of Barisan Nasional in Hulu Rajang. He made the remarks at the Thanks giving Dinner held at Rumah Ajai Nanga Senuang, Sg Melinau Mujong, Kapit.

On another note Ugak advised those who had gone against the government to come back and support the government of the day- Barisan Nasional. It is only the Barisan Nasional who not only promise but deliver all its promises. Unlike the oppositions who only knows how to make promises but all empty promises. They (oppositions) will only come when election is drawing near and left after that without leaving any trace behind.

During PRU13 campaigning, the oppositions mocked on the Baleh Bridge and presumed that it was only political agenda by the BN and the BN government has proven them wrong and as we all can see that construction of the bridge has started and expected to be completed in 30 months time. Not only that, the government is going to build the SCORE roads, roads linking Kapit to Sibu, Nanga Mujong to Nanga Gaat, from Rh Juntan to Nanga Sut, roads from Belaga town to Kapit town and many more developments once the Baleh/Putai dam is being constructed.

Merely 100 days after his victorious, Ugak had visited almost all the six polling districts in Baleh and the same goes to Belaga and Asap.

“As the wakil rakyat, we must serve the rakyat and this is the advice of the PM to all parliamentarians from BN. Serve your constituents well and be prepare for the PRU14 from now” Ugak said.

Earlier on Ugak officiated the Life saver Water Filter System for Rumah Ajai.

PRS READY TO RECLAIM PELAGUS SEAT


YB Wilson Ugak Kumbong; Member of Parliament for Hulu Rajang recently paid a visit to Rh Engking Sungai Amang during his walkabouts. Many were very curious with regards to his visit as Rh Engking is under the Parliament of P.215 Kapit currently represented by YB Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi and a huge crowd attended the function to get first hand information.

During his speech, YB Wilson Ugak pointed out that his visit was not to interfere with YB Datuk Alexander’s area but to consolidate the grassroots support for the BN candidate who will wrestle back the Pelagus seat from incumbent YB George Lagong.  The Pelagus seat is being allocated to Barisan Nasional through Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS).

"As we all know that for the past two over years I have received a lot of complaints from the people of Pelagus with regards to the unsatisfactory services being rendered by YB George Lagong and now it is time we change him (Lagong) with someone from the coalition who can serve the rakyat" Ugak said to the applause of the audience.

On behalf of the Barisan Nasional coaliation, Ugak pleaded with all the voters in Pelagus to return this seat to the Barisan Nasional for continuous development. “Please support YB Datuk Alexander Nanta so that both the ADUN seats namely Katibas and Pelagus are being represented by the ruling coaliation” said Ugak. As for the aspiring candidates, Ugak advised them to work hard and put rakyat’s interest above their personal interest. Ugak also called for close rapport amongst Barisan Nasional component parties namely PBB, SPDP and SUPP to help PRS wrestle back Pelagus and God’s willing we will achieve that in the state election.

At the function Ugak presented MRP grants totaling RM188, 000.00 to 12 NGOs and JKKK from Pelagus and Baleh. He advised all the recipients to use their allocation wisely for the benefit of everyone in their community.


A Political Secretary to YAB Wilson Nyabong Ijang, Dato Kristoffer Nyuak Bajok, Stanley Nyitar Unja,Nycle Andrew, SAO Nuwin,Koh Kumbong, Bakat Gira,John Awan, PRS members and BN component party members were among those present at the function. The function was organized by Jabatan Hal Ehwal Pengguna Kapit (PPDNKK Kapit) on “Children, Women and Youth Education Programme 2013”.
