YB Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing said “Playing
racial tune in Hulu Rajang is dangerous. I advise all people who participated
in propagating their candidate for Hulu Rajang to refrain from it. In the last
20 over years Hulu Rajang had been free of racial sentiments during election. I
hope to keep it that way.”
That was part of his speech when officiating a
dialogue on NCR at Rumah Lugad, Sungai Majau, Kapit.
Also at the function, he advised land owners of NCR
to co-operate with the relevant government agencies to speed up the Perimeter
survey for the benefit of everybody and also to stop listening to rumors being
put up by oppositions especially nearing election time. At the function, he
also advised them to give their fullest support to the Barisan Nasional
Candidate in Hulu Rajang, widely tipped to be his Private Secretary; Wilson
Ugak Kumbong to replace 5 terms incumbent; Datuk Billy Abit Joo in the Iban
majority seat.
Among those attending the function were Kapit
Resident; Dahim Nadot, Kapit Distric Officer; Elvis Didit, Department heads,
Pemanca David Dian Langkau and Pemanca Tan Kian Hoo, Peghulu Salang, 15 Tuai
rumah and residents from surrounding long houses.
