KUCHING: State opposition PKR will be contesting in five constituencies in the
state in the upcoming 13th general election.
These are Limbang,
Batang Lupar, Saratok, Baram and Hulu Rajang.
In a recent press
statement, state PKR chairman Baru Bian said the official announcement was made
by the party’s de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at a press conference
in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Leading the
candidacies in the state is Baru himself who will be contesting in Limbang
while Abang Zulkifli Abang Engkeh will be standing in Batang Lupar.
In Saratok
constituency, the party will be represented by state PKR vice-chairman Ali Biju
whereas Baram will be contested by Roland Engan.
Meanwhile, Abun Sui
Anyit has been selected to stand for the Hulu Rajang constituency.
Limbang and Batang
Lupar are traditionally allocated by Barisan Nasional (BN) to PBB while Saratok
and Baram will go to SPDP and Hulu Rajang to PRS.
